Where do I find my EV's efficiency rating?
Check your vehicle's onboard trip computer (often shown as mi/kWh or kWh/100mi), the EPA window sticker, or fueleconomy.gov for your specific make and model's official efficiency rating.
Why might my real-world range differ from this estimate?
Cold weather, highway speeds, hilly terrain, climate control (heating/AC) use, and driving style can all meaningfully reduce real-world range compared to rated efficiency under ideal test conditions.
How does this differ from a gas car's MPG?
Mi/kWh for EVs works similarly to MPG for gas vehicles — higher numbers mean better efficiency — but the units and typical ranges differ since EVs are measured against electrical energy (kWh) rather than fuel volume (gallons).
