Frequently Asked Questions
What is impermanent loss?
Impermanent loss is the difference in value between providing liquidity to a pool versus simply holding the two assets separately. It occurs whenever the price ratio between the pooled assets changes from when you deposited them.
Why is it called "impermanent"?
The loss is only realized if you withdraw your liquidity while the price ratio is different from when you deposited. If the price ratio returns to its original level, the loss disappears — hence "impermanent."
How do I enter the price change multiple?
Enter how many times the relative price has changed — for example, if one asset doubles in price relative to the other, enter 2. If it falls to half, enter 0.5.
