Frequently Asked Questions
How accurate is this estimate?
Hexagon count is derived from a standard hex-tessellation layout (columns from width / (side x sqrt(3)), rows from length / (1.5 x side)). This is a geometric approximation -- cross-checked against real reference examples, it lands within roughly 2% of hand-pieced layouts, which is typical for any hexagon quilt estimate since real piecing always involves some trimming and adjustment at the edges.
