Straight vs. bias binding — what's the difference?
Straight-grain binding is cut in strips along the fabric's width and pieced together; it's simpler and uses less fabric. Bias binding is cut at a 45-degree angle for extra stretch (useful on curved edges) and needs a square of fabric rather than strips.
