How is criss-cross lacing length calculated?
Each diagonal segment crossing between two eyelets has length sqrt(Horizontal Spacing squared plus Vertical Spacing squared), by the Pythagorean theorem. The total is the sum of all diagonal segments, plus one horizontal segment at the bottom, plus the free ends left for tying on each side.
