Frequently Asked Questions
How is compound growth calculated?
Your initial deposit grows as FV = PV x (1 + r/m)^(m x t), where r is the annual rate, m is the compounding frequency, and t is the term in years. Recurring monthly contributions grow on top of that using the future value of an annuity, converted to the same compounding frequency.
How is this different from the CAGR Calculator?
This calculator projects a future balance forward from a known rate, with sub-annual compounding and recurring contributions. The CAGR Calculator instead solves backward for an implied annual growth rate from a known starting and ending value, with no compounding-frequency or contribution mechanics.
