Frequently Asked Questions

What does FIFO stand for?

FIFO stands for First-In-First-Out: it assumes the oldest inventory units purchased are the first ones sold, so remaining inventory reflects your most recent purchase prices.

When does FIFO produce a different result than LIFO?

The two methods only differ when purchase prices change between batches. If all batches were bought at the same price, FIFO and LIFO produce identical results.
