Frequently Asked Questions
How is labor cost calculated?
Annual Payroll Labor Cost = Gross Pay + Additional Annual Costs (taxes, benefits, insurance). Dividing that by your actual net hours worked gives the true, fully-loaded hourly labor cost -- higher than the base pay rate alone.
How is this different from the Man-Hours Calculator?
Labor Cost adds employer burden (taxes, benefits, insurance) on top of base wages to find a fully-loaded cost and a cost-to-revenue ratio. Man-Hours is a simpler headcount x hours staffing calculation with no burden concept.
