How is monthly income calculated?
Monthly Income = Hourly Wage x Hours Worked per Week x 52 / 12. Using 52 weeks (not a flat 4-week month) avoids underestimating income, since most months have slightly more than 4 weeks.
Why not just multiply weekly pay by 4?
Multiplying by 4 weeks systematically understates monthly income, since a year has 52 weeks (13, not 12, four-week periods). Dividing the accurate annual figure by 12 gives a truer monthly average.
