Frequently Asked Questions

What is a good running pace?

For beginners, a 7-8 min/km pace is common. Recreational runners average 5-6 min/km. Competitive club runners run 4-5 min/km. Elite marathon runners sustain under 3 min/km.

How do I convert pace to speed?

Divide 60 by your pace in min/km to get km/h. For example, a 6 min/km pace equals 10 km/h. Alternatively, divide 60 by your pace in min/mile to get mph.

What is negative splitting?

Negative splitting means running the second half of a race faster than the first half. Research shows this is the optimal race strategy for almost all distances, as it preserves energy and avoids early lactate buildup.
