How is the second triangle calculated?
Every side of a similar triangle scales by the same factor, so each leg of the known triangle is simply multiplied by the scale factor, and the hypotenuse is calculated from the scaled legs using the Pythagorean theorem.
What if I know the second triangle's sides instead of a scale factor?
Divide any side of the second triangle by the corresponding side of the first triangle to find the scale factor, then enter that value here.
Do the angles change between the two triangles?
No. Similar triangles have identical angles; only the side lengths scale. The right angle and the two other angles stay exactly the same in both triangles.
