What is Cramer's rule?

Cramer's rule solves a system of linear equations using determinants: each variable equals a modified version of the system's determinant (with one column replaced by the constants) divided by the original determinant.

How is this different from the elimination and substitution method calculators?

Those two calculators solve a smaller 2-variable, 2-equation system. This calculator handles the more general 3-variable, 3-equation case, which needs a different technique (3x3 determinants) since elimination and substitution get considerably more involved with a third variable.

What if the system has no unique solution?

If the main determinant is zero, the system either has no solution or infinitely many, and this calculator's division-based formulas will not return a single valid answer. This calculator assumes the standard case of a system with exactly one solution.
