This shows a real mid-market reference rate, refreshed at least once every 24 hours. A live trading platform quotes bid and ask prices that update continuously through the trading day and include a spread set by the broker, so the exact number will differ slightly from what is shown here.
What does a pip mean in relation to this rate?
A pip is typically the fourth decimal place in a currency pair quote, or the second decimal place for pairs involving the Japanese yen. This converter shows a plain converted amount rather than a pip-based quote, but the underlying rate is the same reference point.
Can this be used to size a trading position?
It works as a quick reference for converting a notional amount between two currencies. Actual position sizing should also account for leverage, margin requirements, and a live spread set by the broker, none of which this converter calculates.
