How to Convert Hours and Minutes to Decimal Time
Converting to decimal time comes down to expressing minutes and seconds as a fraction of an hour, then adding that fraction to the whole hours. Since one hour equals 60 minutes, divide the minute count by 60. Since one hour equals 3,600 seconds, divide the second count by 3,600.
For example, take 2 hours, 45 minutes, and 45 seconds. Dividing 45 minutes by 60 gives 0.75, and dividing 45 seconds by 3,600 gives 0.0125. Adding those to the 2 whole hours gives 2 + 0.75 + 0.0125, which equals 2.7625 decimal hours. The same time can be expressed as a decimal number of minutes or seconds too, shown below.

Converting Time to Decimal in Excel or Google Sheets
If your time is stored as a real time-formatted cell, like 2:45:45, multiply it by 24 to get decimal hours. For a cell A1 formatted as time, the formula is =A1*24.
