How are stacked discounts calculated?
Stacked discounts apply sequentially, not additively: Discounted Price = Original Price x (1 - Discount 1) x (1 - Discount 2). For example, 20% off followed by another 25% off is NOT 45% off total -- it's a combined 40% off, since the second discount applies to the already-reduced price.
Why might my "savings" be negative?
If the discount is small and tax plus shipping add up to more than the amount saved off the original price, your final price can end up higher than the original sticker price alone (before tax/shipping were added to that baseline too) -- always compare final total cost, not just the discount percentage.
