What is an orthocenter?
The orthocenter is the point where a triangle's three altitudes intersect. An altitude is a line from one vertex perpendicular to the opposite side.
How is the orthocenter found from just the vertex coordinates?
Two altitude lines are enough to find the intersection point: each altitude passes through one vertex with a slope that is the negative reciprocal of the opposite side's slope. Solving those two line equations simultaneously gives the orthocenter.
Can the orthocenter fall outside the triangle?
Yes. For an acute triangle the orthocenter is inside, for a right triangle it sits exactly on the right-angle vertex, and for an obtuse triangle it falls outside the triangle entirely.
