Truncated Cone Volume Calculator
MathCalculate just the volume of a truncated cone (frustum) from its two radii and height.
Volume
Volume of the frustum, (1/3)*pi*h*(r^2+rR+R^2).

Frequently Asked Questions
How is this different from the full truncated cone calculator?
This is the narrower, volume-only version for visitors who specifically need the volume of a frustum shape, such as a bucket, lampshade, or funnel. The comprehensive truncated cone calculator also computes slant height and surface areas.
Where does the volume formula come from?
It comes from subtracting the volume of the smaller cone that was sliced off from the volume of the full, uncut cone. Working through that subtraction algebraically simplifies to (1/3)*pi*h*(r^2+rR+R^2), where r and R are the top and base radii.
What if I only know the slant height, not the height?
You can find the height first using height = sqrt(slant height^2 - (R-r)^2), then enter that height here.
