Will the receiving party get exactly this converted amount?
Usually not. Banks and wire transfer services typically apply their own exchange rate, which includes a margin over the live market rate shown here, and often charge a separate flat or percentage based transfer fee.
Why do banks use a different exchange rate than this one?
This converter shows the live interbank market rate. Retail banks generally add a markup to that rate to cover their own costs and margin, a common, if often uncompetitive, source of hidden cost on international transfers.
Does the receiving bank also take a cut?
In some countries and banking corridors, an intermediary or receiving bank can deduct a handling fee before crediting the funds, separate from the sending bank fee and exchange-rate margin. This varies by bank and country.
