This converter shows the live mid-market rate, the reference point banks and payment platforms use themselves. Most banks and processors add a margin when they actually convert a payment, so the amount that lands in an account is usually a little lower than the figure shown here.

There is no universal answer, it depends on who is better positioned to absorb exchange-rate movement. Invoicing in a stronger, more stable currency, commonly USD or EUR, shifts currency risk onto the client. Invoicing in a local currency shifts that risk onto the freelancer instead.
