How is fence length calculated?
The perimeter of a rectangle is twice the sum of its length and width. Any gate width is then subtracted, since a gate opening does not need fence panel material.
What if I have more than one gate?
Add up the total width of all gate openings and enter that combined value in the gate width field.
Does this work for a non-rectangular yard?
Not directly. This calculator assumes a rectangular area. For an irregular shape, measure and sum each individual side length instead.
