Revised Trauma Score Calculator
Health & FitnessCalculate the Revised Trauma Score (RTS) used to assess trauma severity and predict survival probability.
Revised Trauma Score
Revised Trauma Score, from 0 to 7.8408. Educational reference only, not a substitute for clinical judgment.
Interpretation
General interpretation. Lower scores are associated with lower survival probability. Near-maximum score - generally favorable prognosis

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Revised Trauma Score used for?
The RTS combines 3 key physiological measurements to assess trauma severity and estimate survival probability, commonly used in prehospital and emergency settings to help triage trauma patients.
Why are the 3 components weighted differently?
The weighting coefficients (0.9368 for GCS, 0.7326 for blood pressure, 0.2908 for respiratory rate) were derived from statistical modeling of real trauma outcome data, reflecting each measurements relative importance in predicting survival.
What RTS value indicates trauma center transport?
An RTS below 4 is generally associated with a meaningfully lower survival probability and typically indicates the need for care at a designated trauma center.
Is this calculator a substitute for medical advice?
No. This is an educational reference implementation of the standard Revised Trauma Score, not a substitute for real-time clinical assessment by trained trauma personnel.
