What is the difference between a permutation and a combination?
A permutation counts arrangements where order matters (ABC is different from BCA); a combination counts selections where order doesn't matter (ABC and BCA are the same group). Combinations are always less than or equal to permutations for the same n and r.
What does nPr mean?
nPr, read "n permute r," is the number of ordered ways to select r items from a set of n distinct items, calculated as n! / (n-r)!.
