Every value in the table is exact, so it is complete as shown, except that the cent and the guntha are conventions derived from the acre. A decare is 1,000 square meters, a tenth of a hectare, and it follows the same metric pattern as the are and the hectare.
How to Convert Any Area Unit
- Multiply the value by the size of its unit in square meters, from the table.
- Divide by the size of the target unit in square meters.
- Example: 2,500 square feet × 0.09290304 = 232.2576 square meters, and ÷ 4,046.8564224 gives about 0.0573921 acres.
Because each unit is defined in square meters, any pair converts in two steps without rounding. Rounding a length factor first is what causes small errors: squaring 3.28 feet per meter gives 10.7584 square feet per square meter instead of about 10.7639.
